U.S. mission to the U.N.: UNRWA is "subsidiary of Hamas"

"...The United States remains unwavering in its commitment to Israel’s security, the demilitarization of Gaza, and President Trump’s vision of peace and prosperity for the whole region – a vision backed by our partners in the region.

Colleagues, year after year, this package of one-sided, anti-Israel resolutions is put before the committee...

These resolutions are a sideshow that, now more than ever, serve only to distract from serious diplomatic efforts with the parties on the ground towards peace in the region.  To support the latter, we should end business as usual in this chamber and embrace the fresh thinking and bold action through which President Trump ended the war in Gaza and achieved the historic Abraham Accords...

This also means turning a page in the region’s history and doing things in a different way.  In this respect, the United States opposes the renewal of the UNRWA mandate.  As Secretary Rubio said, UNRWA became a subsidiary of Hamas..."
