"Durban's radicals weren't only obsessed with Israel. They also demanded reparations from the United States and other Western countries for slavery and colonialism. They conveniently and lazily reduced history to oppressors versus victims, treated West-- Western prosperity as evidence of exploitation, and attempted to permanently indict America and the West. Meanwhile, at one of Durban's anti-racism gatherings, participants shield copies of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, within which anti-Semitic caricatures showed Jews with blood dripping from fangs while protesters in the city streets carried signs saying, "Hitler should have finished the job." This is the kind of stuff you'd imagine to find in terrorist chat rooms, not at the United Nations, a bodied-- a body supposedly devoted to peace and human flourishing.

Friends, it was immoral and unconscionable for the UN and its member states to platform such evil. As we now know, what happened in Durban did not stay in Durban, and perhaps that was the point all along. Much of the woke ideological vocabulary that erupted across America and the West in twenty twenty was rehearsed there. Systemic guilt, reparations, settler colonialism, capitalism as oppression, immigration enforcement as xenophobia, and discrimination in the name of anti-racism. What began in conference tents in South Africa made its way to UN chambers in New York and Geneva, universities, boardrooms, activist organizations, city governments, and eventually the streets. Worse, allegiance to this stuff became a litmus test. Those who failed to swear, swear fealty or self-flagellate were out. Those who did were in, or at least they hope they are.

I reject this personally as well as politically, and I'm convinced we lost a generation of good, honest politicians, professors, businesspeople, and citizens as a result. We certainly lost a generation of good work done by and through the UN. The UN poisons-- Even today, the UN poisons its good name by associating with Durban in any way."

Twenty-five years on, the world has seen where Durban's ideology leads: racism, ideological litmus tests, discrimination, and on and on. It is well past time to burn and bury Durban’s stained legacy. @AmbUNReform"

"The United States will not participate in laundering Durban's legacy, most certainly not on the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of America's covenant with her people that our rights come from God and nowhere else. You see, the first Americans promised one another that their rights weren't fungible. They can't be exchanged, traded, or stripped away, whether by kings, emperors, and definitely not by global bureaucrats.

And that is why the American people oppose racism and antisemitism in all of their forms. It's why we declared and enshrined that every person is created equal, that we have equal justice under law, that individuals should be judged by character and conduct, not assigned collective guilt because of race, religion, nationality, or ancestry. We believe the answer to poverty is not grievance, it is prosperity. The answer to division is not racial sorting, it is equal opportunity. The answer to historical injustice is not an endless bureaucracy of blame. It is freedom, growth, trade, investment, faith, family, and the dignity of work.

President Trump has made it clear America will not apologize for being America or perpetuate a system that teaches others to hate us for our success. The world has had twenty-five years to see where Durban's ideology leads. We reject its poison of grievance politics and virtue signal grandstanding. It's time to burn and bury the Durban legacy of anti-Americanism, anti-Westernism, and antisemitism.

Instead, I encourage each of you, join the United States in building a future defined not by who we blame for the past, present, or future, but by what free people can achieve together."
