The Republic of Croatia will not participate in the commemoration of the Durban Declaration

"The Republic of Croatia will not participate in the commemoration of the Durban Declaration

On the sidelines of the general debate of the UN General Assembly in September 2021, a meeting is being held to officially mark the twentieth anniversary of the Durban Declaration and its Program of Action.

Given that there was a significant deviation from the initial goals of the conference founders, namely the fight against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance, the Republic of Croatia joined the growing number of countries and decided not to participate in this year's celebration.

In recent years, this conference has increasingly promoted rather than prevented intolerance, racism and anti-Semitism, so the Republic of Croatia should not be part of such a platform.

At the same time, the Republic of Croatia remains committed to the fight against racism in all its forms and phenomena."
