UN Secretary-General Calls Arab War-Makers "Indispensable to Peace"

A meeting of the Arab League (File photo)
Although the autocratic members of the League of Arab States have committed genocide (Sudan), bomb hospitals and markets in Yemen (Saudi Arabia), fund the terrorist group Hamas (Qatar), and violate the human rights of their own populations, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon seeks stronger ties between the League and the UN. In a message to the thirteenth General Meeting of Cooperation between the United Nations and the League of Arab States on May 17, 2016, the Secretary-General claimed that the Arab League was "indispensable" to peace, including by promoting the Arab "Peace" Initiative, (which would destroy the Jewish state of Israel by requiring a "right of return" for millions of Palestinians.) In his words:

"Responding to today's challenges to international peace and security demands that our two organizations continue to strengthen and broaden our bilateral ties...The League of Arab States is indispensable to peace efforts in the region and in helping create an environment of trust. Establishing lasting peace and security for Palestine and Israel based on the two-State solution has never been more urgent. I welcome the League of Arab States' efforts on this issue, particularly in promoting the Arab Peace Initiative. "
