U.N. General Assembly vote to fund the U.N. "Human Rights" Council "Commission of Inquiry"

Results of the vote
On December 24, 2021, the UN General Assembly rejected a proposed amendment by Israel to eliminate funding for a Human Rights Council "Commission of Inquiry" targeting Israel. The "Commission of Inquiry" has no end-date and will be funded by an unprecedented amount of cash and human resources, all to come from the UN’s regular budget – that is, to be charged to every taxpayer of every UN member state every year for eternity.

The General Assembly rejected the oral amendment on December 24, 2021, by a vote of 8 in favor (Hungary, Israel, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, United States), 109 against, 35 abstentions (Albania, Australia, Austria, Bhutan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Fiji, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Italy, Lesotho, Lithuania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Republic of Korea, Rwanda, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Togo, Tonga, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Zambia). [Belarus initially voted in favor but stated that it had intended to vote against, and the Russian Federation stated that it had intended to vote against rather than abstain.]
