Turkey's Statement at General Assembly Debate on UN Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism

Turkey, and its radical Islamist President, used the General Assembly session on the Secretary General's Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism on February 12, 2016, to claim there is no connection between Islamist terror and any proponents of Islam. In its words:

"I wish to underline that radicalization to violence is not limited to a specific ideology or system of belief, and cannot be associated with any country, religion or culture..."
