Iran Threatens U.S. Officials, Israel, While Speaking at U.N. General Assembly

Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, speaking at the General Debate of the 78th session of the U.N. General Assembly on September 21, 2023, used his platform to threaten assassinations of U.S. officials in revenge for the killing of the top commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Qasem Soleimani, in a U.S. drone strike attack in 2020. “But the Islamic Republic of Iran will not stop using all the tools and capacities to execute justice and prosecute the perpetrators and managers of this state terrorism until a definite result is achieved; The blood of the oppressed will not be trampled and it will hunt the oppressor,” Raisi said.

He also referred to the State of Israel as "the Zionist regime" and called for an end to Israel's so-called "occupation" of Arab lands for 75 years - meaning, since Israel was established.
